Survived.

Apparently my external hard disc came back to life. Managed to save and transferred some of my pictures into my macbook pro, not all though cos it died on me again after a few minutes. All of the pictures are 2-4 months old and some of them I haven't even edited. I seriously need to get it fix. A lot of good stuff I have in there, not just pictures I took but movies and also tv series which I've downloaded all of it myself.

So above are some of the pictures that survived. Taken in the month of may during the Kaamatan festival at my dad's hometown in Kuala Penyu. My cousin took part in the Unduk Ngadau competition. I was supporting her all the way. Try again next year my love :D

His name is Chow.

This mini sized charmer is our second dog. Daddy decided to bring him home from granma's house to accompany Brown, our first dog. He was just a small puppy when he first arrived and so scared of us, always hiding under the car or in the bushes. Didn't even want us to be near him when it's time for dinner. He would wait until we're out of sight then he would creep out from his hiding to eat. Poor boy.

But now, he's so different! He's naughtier than Brown even. He likes to chase birds and rats outside of the house. I think he's a hunter. Quite lazy sometimes too cos he loves to lie down on the grass, having quite a few naps.  May you grow big and strong, Chowy :)

Just a short sharing

I won't be posting any of my pictures for this post cos I'm not in the mood of doing so. Just want to share a little bit to my followers. Before that, I've just reached 51 followers. Woohoo! Not the sims type of woohoo but woohoo as in yahoo! Thank you to all you followers for still following me loyally. I may be the laziest photo blogger that you have followed and despite of my lack of updates, all of you still stick around with me and not even once I see the number of my followers decreased. Once again, thank you for still following me and I promise you that I will continue to take pictures and I won't stop learning to improve my not-very-good photography skills. Besides, I still have heaps of things to learn about the tips and tricks. So followers, please bare with me :)

The real thing that I want to share with all of you is that I'm interested in old vintage cameras and it's actually a wish of mine to own one. What I like about old vintage camera is that it gives some sort of a retro feel to the pictures and I like the fact that when you take pictures with a film camera, you won't be able to edit or retouch those pictures anymore. It is what it is. A little more time and thoughts will be needed before you decide to press the shutter to make sure that every shot is good and the film will not be wasted. There are several models that I would want them to be mine but the model that I'm so crazy about is the TLR camera! I'm a big sucker for TLR vintage cameras but Ricohflex and Rolleiflex are my ultimate favorite brands. I have been searching for it online but I think it's too risky to buy something that is very old from online shops without looking at the condition of the camera on my own. Joel's brother owns a Rolleiflex and that made me a little envious and I was like 'I want one too..'. Is there any shops in KK that sell these kind of vintage cameras with very reasonable price?

For now, I can only look at pictures and imagining that I'm holding the camera in my hands. Some day, just maybe that imagination will be true. *fingers crossed*

The viewfinder is at the top.

That's all for now, have to focus on my studies before my final exam this sunday.

PS: I do not own those pictures :)

Black and White

Sometimes, all of us need to see the simple side of things. It doesn't have to be all in technicolor. With only 2 colours, black and white have the ability to give a greater impact into a picture and makes it more dramatic. Less is definitely more.

This is another collaboration between Joel and I. I took the pictures and he retouched them using Adobe Photoshop. These pictures have been buried in my document for quite a long time and I just remembered about it this afternoon. I must say that I apologized for the lack of updates because of my laziness and not having the inspiration to take any pictures. Will try to update as much as I can, at least once a week.

I'll be sitting for my finals this sunday, hoping that it will go well and wish me luck!

Another mommy portrait

I've been taking a lot of portraits lately and this is one of the pictures. I think this picture showed that I'm not really good with portraits :( Still have heaps of things to learn on how to take good pictures.

I am really thankful to have her as my mom and to me, she is a beautiful woman. We really look a like too! That's a good thing, isn't it (:

Happy Father's Day!

Woah, it has been so long since my last update. What can I say, I have big lazy bums when it comes to updating blog. So today's post would be about my dad. Took the above picture on Father's Day which my family and I had a small picnic at the Tanjung Aru beach. As you can see, my dad is very laid back when it comes to fashion. A collared t-shirt with cargo short pants, a very convenient man he is. I think it's a good thing cos that means my mom, my sisters and moi would be able to get clothes that we want. LOL

He's my hero, period. Despite his strict nature, he's indeed the best dad anyone could ever had. I always ask for things from him but I don't always get what I want, same goes to my other siblings as well. We will be rewarded if we did something nice or got a good result in examination and that's why my siblings and I aren't spoilt.

Daddy, I love you very much and I promise to be a better daughter to you! :D

Happy (belated) Mother's Day!

Mummy <3

Here's a photo of my beloved mum on her birthday. Took it while she was doing her make up for a small dinner party that my younger sister and I have prepared especially for her. My relatives said that I look just like my mum which to me is a good thing, I mean you wouldn't want to look like others besides your own mum right? We actually celebrated Mother's day on saturday instead of sunday cos my parents had a breakfast sale in Stella Maris church. We went to Hang Li Po restaurant to have a family dinner and it was nice. Didn't manage to buy her a present though :(

My mum tends to get on my nerves sometimes but I know that she's just being a mum and even though that she can be pretty annoying, I still love her.

Old Town.

Went to Old Town White Coffee shop a few weeks ago with besties just to hang out and have dinner while waiting for the traffic jam to pass. I didn't have the appetite at that time so I just ordered cold coffee. Really had a great time and while we were there, we were the loudest bunch. As always. :)

A new gear!

Bought a new 50mm f/1.8 lens a few days ago and took some pictures with it. I'm indeed happy with the lens and all I have to buy now is a UV filter for it. Will buy it when I've got the money cos now I'm officially broke. *sigh*

The Russian boy.

The boy is cute, isn't it? Taken this when my friends and I went to Poring a few weeks ago. The boy was sitting alone while waiting for his mom to finish taking picture of a waterfall nearby. And yes, he is Russian! No wonder he has those deep blue eyes! :D

Random

Sony is Alpha.

I feel that I have the obligation to post something for today so I ended up posting this. This is my lens cap, obviously. I took this randomly when I was in the car feeling a little bit boring since it wasn't me who's driving.

Faces.

Marsha, the one who always have my back!

Jeniffer, quite annoying sometimes cos she's the youngest and mom and dad always take
her side but I love her still.

Marcel, a brother that always disturb his sisters and always treat me as if
I'm his punching bag.

Mom, the woman who brought me out into this world and the most
beautiful woman on earth!

The Awesome aunt Tina!

The Sarcastic but Cool aunt Suzanna.

Sweet cousin Stephanie.

These portraitures was taken on Christmas Day since all of us were able to be together. We were chatting and relaxing while everybody was eating so I decided to take their picture. The room was quite dark but the window was open and this gave me the idea to do some CLS or Creative Lighting System. I only use sunlight and positioned them to sit by the window to get the right amount of sunlight shone to their face.

Typography.

Let's take picture...

I was really uninspired before I took this but I decided to just take a few shoots cos I feel like it has been the longest period since the last time I held my baby DSLR. Been neglecting it and I'm such a bad mummy! So, this is my second typography that I did. Typography is basically a kind of photography that includes some wordings or even quotes.

I use my own quote which ' let's take picture', as shown above. Bought the necklaces from a friend and those are my favorite accessories at the moment. Love to wear one of them when I go out. The writings are hand written by me, my cursive writing skill is really rusty now! Practiced LOADS before I get to write the not-so-perfect one. Happy with this I must say. :D

A couple of Portraits.

Taken this monthss ago and totally forgot about these cos they were hidden in the 'vault' lol! I always said that taking portrait is my weakness but I do want to change that cos each and every people on this earth have their own uniqueness and beauty or handsome. :) Wanting to take more portraits in the future and yeah, I LOVE to challenge myself!!

Je t'aime boucoup, Eiffel.

Je t'aime boucoup

Eiffel Tower, one of the MOST POPULAR landmarks in the world! I will go to Paris and see you with my own eyes.

Decided to take pictures of it since I have the keychain and someone very special dedicate a post for me which also about the Eiffel Tower, of course. This post is kind of like a 'reply' to his post and I dedicate this to him as well. We made a promise to each other that one day, we will travel and visit Paris together.

Off to Labuan.

I did a post about her before and that was with our dog and this post I dedicate it to her alone. Been thinking about her very frequent lately since she's been contacting me a lot. Her finals are around the corner and that probably the reason why she was worrying and kept texting me in the middle of the night. As her older sister, I could only pray for her so that she would stay calm and do the best for her upcoming exam.
This photo was taken wayyy back in May while waiting for the big ferry from Menumbok to Labuan. Yes, she is a matriculation student and we ( family) are very proud of her!

Note: Taking portrait is my weakness but this one turns out okay. :D

Batangan Baru Trip part 2.

Care to Kayak, anyone?

Traditional 'board game'!

Broken and neglected.

Au revoir!

The second part of the photos that were taken during the trip. I apologized for the late update due to the size problem of the pictures. I have to resize them all cos last time, the uploader won't let me to upload the photos which made me a bit stressed.

Batangan Baru Trip part 1.

These are some of the photos that I've taken during the trip to Batangan Baru that was organized by the uni's photography club. As you can see the photos above, we did Batik Painting and that was actually our first activity of the day. I must say that the trip was kinda laid back and I enjoyed it.

More pictures to come cos the Blogger uploader wouldn't let me to upload more pics which sucks.

Photography Contest- Kenzo Peace with Nature.

"You are the MOST vivid from the rest."

A friend of mine on Facebook posted a photography contest that was organized by Kenzo in conjunction of the launching of its new fragrance 'Flower'. The theme for the contest would be 'A Touch of Red', which means red color has to be part in the photo. Contestants can choose 1 out of 2 categories, Advanced Category is for advanced, experienced and pro photographers. 2nd category would be the Creative Category and this category is for casual shooters with creativity in expressing the theme.

Was thinking to enter the contest and went around my house to get inspired and I saw this flower. My mom planted it years ago and it grows healthily, we called it Firecrackers flower cos it kinda look like a small bunch of firecrackers and birds love to suck the honey out of it. I got lost track of  time and when I wanted to submit it, the submission has been closed. Too bad but it's okay though, just not my luck. :D
